Madison Darrell began dancing at age two. She danced at DJ’s Dance Studio and Janette Brown’s Studio of Dance before calling White Marsh Ballet Academy her home in 2008. She was a member of the WMBA Dance Company for 11 years and performed in lead roles such as Clara, the Snow Queen, Dew Drop, the Spanish lead, and Tarantella Lead in The Nutcracker, and danced in the spring performances of Seasons, Swan Lake, and Beauty and the Beast, to name a few. She began teaching dance at WMBA in 2019.

Madison received her Bachelor of Arts from Nazareth University in Rochester, New York where she triple majored in Public History, History, and French, double minored in dance and the honors program, and studied abroad for a year. At Naz, she trained under Heather Roffe, Heather Acomb, Beth Bartholomew, Mariko Yamada, Marianne Dalton, Cat Olson, and Stevie Oakes. Madison was also a member of the university’s dance ensemble for five semesters during which she performed in collaborative works created by dance faculty and fellow ensemble dancers, and more recently in residencies with Janice Rosario, Boston Dance Theater, and GALLIM. Madison has a passion for dance that she loves to share with others and while at Naz, she worked on collaborative community-based projects to incorporate dance into elementary school music classes and used dance to promote cultural exchange on her campus. In the fall, she will begin a MA in Public History at Northeastern University in Boston, MA!
